Saif Ali Khan's Role Revealed In 'Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior'?

Ever since the announcement of the Om Raut directorial ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ starring Ajay Devgan in the lead role,one really can’t keep calm because the actor will be seen essaying the role of the unsung warrior Subedar Taanaji Malusare, who fought alongside Chatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj. And now speculations are rife that Saif Ali Khan may be roped in to play the main antagonist. Woah! Isn’t it?
According to a source the Taanaji team believes that Saif will make for an interesting choice to play Udaybhan Rathod, the Rajput officer and fortkeeper appointed by Jai Singh, chief of the Moghul army under Aurangzeb. The film recounts the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670, which was fought between Tanaji Malusare, a commander in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army, and Udaybhan. The former sacrificed his life to recapture Sinhagad Fort from the Moghuls.
The powerfully amazing duo has worked together in ‘Kachche Dhaage’ (1999), ‘LOC Kargil’ (2003) and ‘Omkara’ (2006). While Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Omkara’ which was an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’ was theie last film together, ‘Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior’ would be their fourth project.
