The cast and crew of the high-decibel mythological film 'Adipurush' decided to lie low after it witnessed a disappointing takeoff coupled with controversy. Only the writer-lyricist Manoj Muntashir Shukla has openly spoken on it, relating to its content, quality, and the criticism it faced. However, actor Saif Ali Khan recently made brief remarks about the film's failure in an interview.
Khan pointed at his 2019 flop in the Western film Laal Kaptaan '' and insisted that he wasn't a star who could guarantee success for every project. Though the film was directed by Navdeep Singh, it failed at the box office, which Khan attributed to him not being star enough, hilariously.
He made it clear by saying that he would not like to be as unrealistic as the one who is deluded into becoming a superstar. Not idealizing his parents, who are also significant stars in movies, Khan spoke to say that his parents always taught him to remain realistic and believe in failure being a part of life.
Here, failure is bound to happen in this domain, as it's part and parcel of the whole process. He stressed the importance of coming up with disappointment, accepting it, and moving on with determination. On musing over Adipurush, Khan pointed out that while people generally go on making all praises about bold choices, failure also remains an intrinsic risk that he has to undertake into acceptance.
Adipurush, released in June last year, is based on the Ramayana epic, which had Prabhas and Kriti Sanon pitted against Saif Ali Khan. However, the film, with a reported budget of over Rs 600 crore, faced criticism from critics and failed to generate profits matching its expenses at the box office.
