A few days ago, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan said in an interview that Prabhas' 'Adipurush' will be showing the humane side of Ravana. The film has Saif as Ravana, while Prabhas plays Rama. His comments received flak from many. BJP leader Ram Kadam demanded an apology from him for saying that the film will justify the abduction of Sita. "Saif who plays Ravan's character says Ravan's abduction of Sita Maa will be justified in the film. Director Om Raut, you made 'Tanhaji', which was well-received worldwide because it does justice to Hindu pride and Marathi asmita. But if 'Adhipurush' plans to show Ravan in a positive light and justify the inhuman act of abduction of Sita Maa, we will never let that happen," the BJP leader from Maharashtra wrote on Twitter.
The news is that Saif has issued a statement apologizing for his remarks. The 'Dil Chahta Hai' actor observed that his comments have hurt people’s sentiments and that he didn't intend to do that.
Apologizing to everyone, he added, "Lord Ram has always been the symbol of righteousness and heroism for me. Our film is about celebrating the victory of good over evil and the entire team is working together to present the epic without any distortions."
Prabhas' fans must be happy that their star's film will not be controversial after this.
