Saif Ali Khan is one of the most versatile mainstream actors in the business today. He has transitioned well from being a conventional filmstar to someone who loves to explore the characters in the digital entertainment space. However, Saif didn't achieve the stardom that the trio of Khans have achieved. Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been the flag bearers of Indian cinema since the 90s and still continue to enjoy fan following like few others.
In a recent interview, Saif Ali Khan admitted being a less popular star in comparison but he also believes that this worked out in his favour. He said, "“I have to say these guys - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir - were kind of born somehow to be actors. I think it must have been a childhood ambition. Certainly, I know it was for two of them. I don’t know if it was Salman’s ambition anyway but he was certainly built for it and made for the kind of success he saw. I joined movies at a time where you got to aim to either be a superstar or not bother. And there’s a point there. It wasn’t really about nuance, different kinds of characters...all that has happened now."
