Popular actor Saif Ali Khan was last scene alongside Hrithik Roshan in the crime thriller 'Vikram Vedha'. In spite of having an amazing script, star cast and good production value, the film failed to create a significant buzz on the box office. In a recent media interaction, Saif addressed the failure of his film and stated that no one knows what kind of films are working in today's environment.
The actor also cited insanely high fees of some actors as a problematic thing. Saif told CNBC-TV18, "The reason we should be very polite to each other is because nobody has any clue of what works and doesn’t work. I have no idea but something is happening. People will continue to make movies. Prices will keep fluctuating because our pricing, some of it, is insane. We pay people astronomically and the returns have been not good."
For the unversed, 'Vikram Vedha' was a remake of a Tamil crime thriller of the same name. The original starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi and was a huge blockbuster. Even the Hindi dubbed version of that film was appreciated by fans. While the Bollywood version of 'Vikram Vedha' collected 89 crores on box office, it failed to break even against its 175 crore rupees budget.
