Actress Sai Pallavi had started her career with brief appearances in few Tamil movies, and later with the Malayalam movie Premam, she became a star, following which Tollywood movies and Kollywood heroine entry happened, and now she is a force in south.

Premam directed by Alphonse Putharen had given her an identity, and even today many refer to her as Malar miss, based on her character in the movie, and it was a huge success even in Tamil Nadu, running more than 200 days in a theatre in Chennai. Now, the actress has revealed a big secret behind her debut in Premam.

In a recent interview, she said that since she did not want her friends from Coimbatore know that she's acting in films, she had accepted to act in a Malayalam movie. "With all my friends being Tamil, none would have seen the movie even if I force them, and if the movie had failed, they would never have known it as well. However Premam turned a success. I had lot of pimples in the movie, but people accepted me as I was, and I learnt that confidence is the real beauty" said Sai Pallavi.
