Actress Sai Pallavi of 'Premam' fame who has won widespread accolades for her performance in her second film 'Kali' was expected to enter Kollywood with a bang, playing the lead heroine in ace director Mani Ratnam's next film with Karthi as the male lead.

But now we learn that Sai Pallavi is not part of the project any more and she has been replaced with another heroine from Mumbai.

Sources say that Mani Ratnam felt a little more matured actress will be a better option for the heroine role and Sai Pallavi is not okay with performing some intimate scenes with the hero as demanded by the script. Hence both the filmmaker and the actress have parted ways with a mutual understanding.

The shooting of the yet to be titled film is expected to begin in the month of September. Oscar winner A.R.Rahman will score the music while Cinematographer Ravivarman will be teaming up with the director for the first time for this film.

The film will be produced by Mani Ratnam under his Madras Talkies banner.
