At a recent ABP Live summit in Hyderabad, Mega Star Chiranjeevi's nephew Sai Durgha Tej, formerly known as Sai Dharam Tej, candidly discussed his journey into acting, his family’s renowned film legacy, and his close bond with cousins like Ram Charan and Allu Arjun. It is known that Sai Durgha Tej made a name for himself doing different genre action entertainers and is hailed as Supreme Hero.
Coming from Chiranjeevi Konidela’s celebrated mega family-which includes uncles mega brother Nagababu and Power Star Pawan Kalyan who is now the deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh as well as cousins global Star Ram Charan and icon Star Allu Arjun-Sai addressed questions about whether he feels competitive pressure. Setting aside any notion of rivalry, Sai said, “None of us planned to become actors. I once envisioned myself in a stable 9-to-5 job but realized I wanted more. It was similar for Bunny (Allu Arjun), Charan, and my brother Vaisshnav Tej. Acting wasn’t part of a blueprint-it just happened naturally. We’re like flowers on the same plant. Flowers don’t compete-they bloom together.”
Sai revealed that family gatherings rarely focus on cinema. “When we meet, we talk more about making a positive impact than about our careers. The conversations usually revolve around food, clothes, and family. Working with my uncle Pawan in Bro was especially meaningful to me—a way to express my gratitude for his guidance throughout my career.”
A Look at Sai's Career
Sai’s industry journey began in 2009, though his debut film, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, didn’t hit theaters until 2014. Overcoming obstacles, including a serious motorcycle accident in 2021 that left him in a coma, Sai made a powerful comeback with Virupaksha in 2023. Now, he’s set to embark on an exciting new project inspired by the epic 300, marking another significant chapter in his evolving career.
