Intense speculations were rife that actor Sai Dharam Tej's new movie to be directed by Gopichand Malineni is named after Megastar Chiranjeevi's iconic hit Gang Leader. However, sources close to the Supreme Hero are quick to dispel the rumour, as the team has not considered the title of the 1991 film.

Sriniwasa Kumar (SKN), producer and leading PRO of Tollywood said that none of the upcoming films of Sai Dharam Tej are titled Gang Leader and termed it as a rumour. "None of @IamSaiDharamTej projects named as #GangLeader. Speculation in social media not true."

Produced jointly by Nallamalupu Bujji and Tagore Madhu, the film will have Rakul Preet Singh as the love interest of Tej. The film is expected to go onto the sets only after Tej wraps up Supreme and Thikka.
