Sai Dhansika wins International Best Actress Award

Sai Dhansika has won the Best Actress award for her role as Shakthi in the short film 'Sinam' at the California Best Shorts Competition. The film directed by Ananda Murthy has also won four other awards in the Best Short , Best Asian Short Film, Best Experimental, Best Social Justice/Liberation.
'Sinam' has many distinctions already having won eight awards at the Calcutta International Cult Film Festival and having the longest monologue in the history of cinema. It is about a prostitue played Shakti played by Sai Dhansika who asks a documentary filmmaker to film the story of how her father pushed her into the flesh trade. The film also stars Bidita Bag.
