Sahasam Swasaga Saagipo

When it is a romantic film coming from Gautham Menon, youngsters of today's generation watch out for his film the way movie-goers of a bygone era used to await a Mani Ratnam romantic.  Two more factors favouring the craze around the film are: AR Rahman's music and Naga Chaitanya, the lover boy.

From the songs and the teasers, we conclude that the Ye Maya Chesave hangover is palpable.  Be it Naga Chaitanya clandestinely admiring the heroine (played by Malayalam actress Manjhima Mohan) or the breezy talk about going on a vacation, the idiom is familiar.  Phrases like 'In pursuit of life', 'Filled with sunshine and love' welcome the audience to a fun-filled world of the love birds.

This smooth terrain gives way to a showdown and thus the lead pair wade into a "rough terrain".  The sound of gun shots and a menacing Baba Sehgal (the hero's antithesis) hitting the lover boy hard, signal an ominous journey ahead for the pure-in-love guys.  'Ride towards finding yourself' says it all.  Gautham Menon seems to  have enriched the screenplay with characters that talk emotionally and with a literary touch.

In the face of an existential threat that the hero-heroine duo face, Chai has to show his 'saahasam'.  After all, adventure is his breath.  Will the adventure take them toward death?  It's something destiny will decide.  Meanwhile, raise a toast to AR Rahman.

The director is upbeat that the listeners have lapped up two singles from the album.  Rasaali/ chakori, being the one.  Dan Macarthur is the cinematographer.

The film is slated for a July release.
