Sagileti Katha Movie Review

Sagileti Katha is a rural action drama that was released today. Not many even know about this film which was released today. Read our review here.

Story:

The narrative unfolds in Sagileru, a parched village situated in the heart of Rayalaseema. Two prominent figures in the village are Sagileru President Chowdappa (Raja Shekhar Aningi) and RMP Dorasami (Ramesh), who also share a deep friendship. Following some dramatic twists of fate, love blossoms between Kumar (Ravi Mahadasyam), the son of Chowdappa, and Krishna Kumari (Vishika Lakshman), the daughter of Dorasami. Simultaneously, the villagers decide to organize a Gangalamma fair within their community. The unfolding of events during the fair, the unexpected conflicts that arise in the love story of Kumar and Krishna Kumari, and the interplay between their relationship and the Gangalamma fair are at the core of this tale.

Analysis:

Firstly, the film's narrative structure lacks coherence and struggles to maintain a compelling storyline. The screenplay's pacing is slow and ultimately uninspiring. Certain sequences feel disconnected from the overarching plot. Despite considerable effort in crafting the interval sequence, it fails to generate the desired excitement among the audience.

Director Rajasekhar Sudmoon presents an engaging script set against the backdrop of an authentic rural Rayalaseema milieu, featuring natural and relatable characters. Lead actor Ravi Mahadasyam delivers a commendable performance, while heroine Vishika Lakshman impresses with her natural portrayal in various scenes. The supporting cast, including Narasimha Prasad Panthagani and Rajasekhar, effectively bring their characters to life.

Sagileti Katha Movie Review

Composer Jaswanth Pasupuleti's music, particularly the thematic song that drives the narrative, is a notable asset. Notable moments include the gripping scene where Chowdappa confronts Dorasami during the Gangalamma fair and the impactful climax episode.

Although the story offers ample potential to explore the depths of love and yearning, the director fails to fully capitalize on these themes, resulting in a somewhat lackluster narrative. Greater attention should have been devoted to refining the screenplay. Composer Jaswanth Pasupuleti shines with his musical contributions, particularly the first and final songs. Sanal Vasudev's evocative background score enhances several pivotal scenes.

Verdict:

Overall, Sagileti Katha is a rural drama that has an interesting plot. The film also starts on a positive note but slows down in no time. There are issues with the screenplay and most of the scenes are routine and do not showcase anything new. The film is a dragged-out village drama.
