It is a well known fact that cricketing legend and member of Rajayasabha Sachin Tendulkar had adopted a village named Donja in Maharashtra under the Prime Minister's Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna.

About Rs.4 crores in funds was allocated from the government towards the development of the village. With the aid of the said fund, new school building, water access to every house, concrete roads, sewage pipes, and toilet construction have been undertaken in the village.

Sachin visited the village and was elated that all the works have been done to satisfaction. In addition to this, the District Magistrate and Collector of the Osmanabad Shri R.V.Game was also present with whom Sachin reviewed the progress of the village.

Interestingly, Sachin also played cricket with children in the local school following which he talked about the need to work towards more advancement and bringing Donja to the forefront as a model village in the nation.
