As teenagers Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli burst into the cricket scene together after scoring a record 664 run partnership in a school game which remained unbeaten for several years. They then went on to play many games for Mumbai and later India but Kambli lost form and lost his place in the team. Eight years back on a television show Kambli stated that Tendulkar did not help in his times of need which caused a rift in their friendship and the master did not even mention Kambli in his retirement speech.
All that changed a year back as the two friends got back together and Vinod Kambli's birthday was celebrated with much fanfare. The master blaster has started a cricket academy Tendulkar Middlesex Global Academy in which Kambli is serving as a batting coach. The duo visited their coach Ramakanth Achrekar and sought his blessings. Sachin had shared " “Yeh dosti...” on our way to take blessings from Achrekar Sir before our TMGA India camps tomorrow. " and added " A special afternoon with the person who taught us so much and made us who we are. His blessings are all we need to kick-off the TMGA Mumbai camps tomorrow".
