Megastar Chiranjeevi, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Allu Aravind, and Nimmagadda Prasad were seen spending time together in Tirumala since yesterday night along with the former cricketing legend and Bharat Ratna recipient Sachin Tendulkar. They left for Thiruvananthapuram and hours later, met the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan.
This has almost put an end to speculations about what their move could be. With Sachin Tendulkar in company, it was expected that a business venture outside of the Telugu States was in the offing. And it so turns out to be the case. Following a meeting with the Kerala CM, Sachin, who is a co-owner of the Kerala Blasters football club, announced the joining of Tollywood actors Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna on his side as the club's new partners.
The former cricketing legend and the Telugu actors have spoken with the CM about their plan to churn out 100 footballers of world-class standard from their academy. As a goodwill gesture, Sachin has agreed to be part of the Kerala govt's anti-liquor campaign.
Sachin has been quoted as saying by a national daily that, "The Government has agreed to back us and support us in our initiatives for the betterment of young budding sports stars from Kerala. The vision is to have a residential football academy where youngsters can shape their dreams."
Meanwhile, an elated Nagarjuna expressed his happiness over the association with Sachin and Kerala Blasters, using the hashtag #yellowmeinkhelo.
