Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar's biopic 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' is all set to hit the screens on May 26. The film will be releasing in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and Marathi languages.
Just as historicals like 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' (Telugu) have received state support in recent past, Kerala and Chattisgarh have granted tax exemption for the film as it is about a legendary cricketer who is an inspiration for millions.
It is expected that many other states will accord entertainment tax exemption status to this film.
Sadly, such incentives are not transmitted to the viewer in terms of lowered ticket price, which defeats the very purpose of state incentives.
Directed by James Erskine and produced by 200 Not Out Productions banner 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' includes Sachin himself in the star cast there by marking his debut in film industry. AR Rahman has provided music score for the film.
