On Friday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that all places of worship in the state will be opened from June 9 with a slew of restrictions issued by the central government.
"At Sabarimala, only 50 pilgrims will be allowed at a time and all those who wish to visit, have to book their time on the present Virtual Q system,", the CM said. Children and aged would not be permitted at the temple, Vijayan said.
People must strictly follow physical distancing norms and there will not be any distribution of prasadam and sprinkling of holy water on the pilgrims. Also, people will not be allowed to touch the idols. The chief minister also said that there will be thermal scans at Nilackal, Pamba, and Sannidhanam at Sabarimala. More clarity regarding the guidelines will be issued by Travancore Devasom soon.
