'Stree', the recently-released Hindi-language horror-comedy, will be remade in Telugu, say reports. Written and co-produced in Hindi by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the film stars Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.

It has to be seen who will be cast in the Telugu remake.

The horror-comedy is be based on the urban legend of 'O Stree Repu Raa', which itself has its origins in 'Naale Ba', a popular folk story related to how evil spirits are staved off in villages by writing 'O Stree Repu Raa' or 'Naale Ba' at the entrance of every house.

The Telugu version will be produced by the Raj Nidimoru-Krishna DK duo (who have produced the Telugu film 'D For Dopidi' in the past). They have hands-on experience at creating new-age films. 'Shor In The City' and 'Go Goa Gone' (both in Hindi) were directed by them.
