Speculation is rife that the title of Vijay’s debut film as a hero, Naalaiya Theerpu (1992), might also be the title of his upcoming and possibly final film, Thalapathy 69. The film, directed by H. Vinoth, is currently in production, with reports suggesting that 69% of the shoot has been completed. A first-look poster and title announcement are expected on January 26, as confirmed by KVN Productions.
The title Naalaiya Theerpu, which marked Vijay’s first lead role under the direction of his father, S.A. Chandrasekhar, and penned by his mother, Shobha Chandrasekhar, holds sentimental value for the family. The possibility of this title being reused for Thalapathy 69 has sparked conversations online.
Reacting to the buzz, S.A. Chandrasekhar shared his thoughts, saying, “I am very happy. ‘Naalaiya Theerpu’ was the title of his first film as a hero, and now I hear it might be the title of his last. If this is true, it will be wonderful. I would be very happy.”
Fans eagerly await the official confirmation of the title, adding emotional weight to what could be a milestone film in Vijay’s illustrious career.
