'Manal Kayiru 2' is the sequel to the 1982 classic flick directed by Visu with S.V.Sekher and Shanthi Krishna in lead roles. The sequel has been written by S.V.Sekher and his son Ashwin Sekher plays the lead role along with Poorna.

Now it has been confirmed that 'Manal Kayiru 2' will be released on December 23, 2016. This will be the third film to confirm their release for the grand Christmas weekend after Sasikumar's 'Balle Vellaiyathevaa' and Vishal's 'Kaththi Sandai'.

'Manal Kayiru 2' has been directed by Madhan Kumar of 'Yaaruda Mahesh' fame. and produced by Sri Thenandal Films banner. S.Ve.Shekher and Visu are acting in the Kittu Mani and Naradar Naidu characters they played in the first part. Yesteryear heroine Jayashree has played the role of Kittu Mani's wife character.
