After winding up the mega-budget movie saga Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, the second and final installment of Baahubali, the director, S.S. Rajamouli flew away to a film festival to promote Baahubali 2 and finally settled down for a holiday in the U.S.
The director has come back to India after the holiday and has erased all stressful events surrounding the Baahubali projects and is looking forward to start fresh.
He says “I've been to film festival outside of India and the way they were so involved with the story and loved the story, just the way we did had me happy. It's a complete Indian story yet they loved the story and responded like we would. That was an amazing moment”.
He expressed many times that Baahubali will always be an extraordinary memory for him. He says “I was never exhausted while filming Baahubali. I know it took us 4 years, I know the stakes were high, I know that the audience was expecting a lot, but every day I would show up at the set happy and working peacefully. I never wanted to finish the movie just because there was too much pressure and stress”
A mastermind of the movie industry that proved that you don't need a hero to make the movie a hit by directing the movie Eega.
So when asked about how he feels about the hype surrounding the movie, he says
“It's nice to have people talk about the movie but I think the hype is slowing down post the release. The 50-day success reel is just an incident, these days the fate of the movie is decided right on the first weekend of its release. I was worried about Baahubali too. So many people put so much money on the movie and stakes kept getting higher and the pressure kept getting higher, which makes it all too much to handle sometimes. But I never felt the pressure, because I saw it all as a part of the process”
Lately there were some comparisons surrounding the likes of Amir Khan's Dangal and Baahubali, which was brought to Rajamouli's attention. His response to the whole comparison
“It's good that people compare such a beautiful story with Baahubali. Dangal is an emotional track between father and daughter at the end of the day. It is a pure Indian story and people loved it. Both movies are emotional stories. The comparison can definitely be used as a ploy for marketing of Baahubali in China.” he declares as the market for Baahubali in China is pretty huge compared to Indian market.
