Legendary singer S. P. Balasubrahmaniam is on life support in MGM hospital Chennai where he has been undergoing treatment for COVID 19 infection since August 5th. There was sudden deterioration in his condition on August 14th and is being treated with a ventilator ever since. This morning there was an update that the multiple national award winner regained consciousness and is responding well to treatment even though he is still in the ICU.

SPB Charan has given the latest update on his dad's health through a video in which he has stated that there are very encouraging signs with SPB not only opening his eyes but also showing recognition towards the doctors treating him by raising his finger to them in a thumbs-up gesture.

Charan has stated that though there is no likelihood of his father recovering in a day or two he is happy to share that the doctors have assured him that there are positive signs of improvement.

Charan has further added that the prayers of not only his family but also fans will revive Balasubrahmaniam's health condition and promised to give updates on him at regular intervals.
