S Janaki musical evening

It was the last musical evening of legendary singer of over 50000 songs S Janaki at open air auditorium in Manasa Gagotri in Mysuru. At the age of 14 in one of the circles S Janaki started her film singing career in public with GK Venkatesh and PB Srinivos legendary composer and singer.

On Saturday evening the huge attendance applauded the melodious voice and personality S Janaki. The royal family of Mysuru Pramoda Devi Wodeyar felicitated S Janaki on stage. The legends of yesteryears Protima Devi, Dr Rajesh, Harini, Dr Jayathi, Dr BharathiVishnuvardhana, Hema Chaudhary, Shivaramanna, music composer Rajan, Anirudh, Sharan,  politicians MP CS Puttaraju, GT Deve Gowda, MLC KT Srikante Gowda and others were present.

The mammoth attendance was up in joy and cheered for the evergreen songs songs like Poojisalende Hoogala Tande…. Indu Enage Govinda Ninnaya Paadaravindava…Aaseya Bhaava… Nee Yaaro Eno Sakha…. Kangalu Vandane Helide…films hits, devotional and classical songs was a treat to the music lovers.

It was a joint event with S Janaki Charitable Trust and Mysuru University Manasa Gangotri. The program was organized by Pawan, Naveen and Praveen.

S Janaki was on flash back. She remembered the singing days at the age of 10. At 14 she was part of the musical program at one of the main circles of Mysuru in 1952 with GKV and PB Srinivos. I would not sing further. This is my last singing program. With lot of difficulty she expressed this adieu.
