Thalapathy Vijay who generally prefers to be away from the limelight and peacefully concentrate on his career has been hounded by controversy from a totally unexpected person his dad S.A. Chandrasekhar. The veteran director without the leading hero's permission applied to the election commission to convert the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam into a political party in November creating a huge sensation.
Vijay released a statement that he is in no way involved with his dad's political ambitions and insisted that his fans should not support it in any way. After that Chandrasekhar's wife Shobha Chandrasekhar resigned from the post of treasurer and Padmanaban also resigned as president stating that he was threatened by police.
Industry and political analysts were under the impression that SAC would then back out of his political plans but he has just done the opposite. The Puratchi Iyakkunar as he was known in his heydey has launched a new political party named S.A. Chandrasekharan Makkal Iyakkam which has members who have been discarded from the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.
SAC has told newspersons that he met Vijay on Christmas and his son gifted him a gold ring and wished him well for his party launch which will be made official on January 16th. However the Vijay camp has clarified the megastar was not in Chennai on Christmas day and has not met his father for several months due to his political ambitions.
It is said that Vijay is very angry with SAC for once again trying to get into politics as he prefers his father who was instrumental to his massive growth to spend his old age peacefully.
