Ryan Gosling, 42, and BTS star Jimin, 27, unknowingly had a fashion crossover moment, both wearing the same outfit. Gosling noticed that Jimin wore the same shirt in BTS' "Permission to Dance" music video as he did for his role in the upcoming Barbie movie.
In a video shared on the Barbie Twitter account, Gosling humorously addressed Jimin, acknowledging the outfit coincidence and the "unspoken Ken code." He decided to gift Jimin his "most prized possession" – the guitar he used in the film. Gosling playfully mentioned that since Ken doesn't really play, it'll be better in Jimin's hands.
The shirt in question is a black Western shirt with white fringe, which Jimin wore in 2021 for BTS' music video. Meanwhile, Gosling sports the look in Greta Gerwig's new film, starring alongside Margot Robbie, set to hit theaters soon.
The interview was recorded earlier, as actors can't promote their films during the SAG-AFTRA strike.
This isn't the first time a BTS member has been given a guitar. In 2021, Coldplay's Chris Martin gave Jin his guitar as a token of appreciation after their collaboration on "My Universe," a No. 1 hit.
Gosling and Jimin's fashion coincidence adds a playful touch, proving that great minds indeed think alike.
