Expectations:-
Manoj Bajpayee is known for his style of films. The actor has managed to balance right between artistic, meaningful and commercial cinema. Audience have accepted him in all these forms. His latest film 'Rukh' is a small film which has released without any fanfare. Thus, the expectation level is not that great, which could work in the favour of the film.

Story :-
'Rukh' is a story of Druv(Adarsh Gaurav) staying in a boarding school. One day Druv comes to know about a sudden accident of his father DinkarMathur (ManojBajpayee). Druv returns back home to his mother Nandini (SmitaTambe). Due to some unexpected situations, Druv suspect a foul play related to Dinkar's accident and strongly feels that it was a planned murder.

The 'Glitz' Factor:-
The story is simple yet complicated.. The screenplay is fantastic due to which one is totally glued to the silver screen. The film starts on a regular family drama, but after a while shifts its gear to a highly intriguing thriller. There are some good scenes related to ManojBajpayee,The entire track related to Adarsh Gaurav's investigation is highly engaging. The dialogues are realistic and the cinematography is perfect for such films. The music by Amit Trivedi might not have hearing appeal, but goes perfectly with the on screen flow of the film. The background music is perfect.Director Atanu Mukherjee comes up with an interesting tale which has been presented in a thrilling manner. Atanu goes ahead with a tight and intriguing screenplay. ManojBajpayee in his extended special appearance is fantastically brilliant. SmitaTambe lends good support. Adarsh Gaurav is fantastic in his debut film and delivers some brilliant cinematic moments for this movie. Kumud Mishra, Subrojyoti does their part with total grace.

The 'Non-Glitz' Factor:-
The storytakes lots of time for the viewers to settle down to the slow narrative pattern which gets its right momentum only after a specific time.It keeps losing its momentum due to the inclusion of some side tracks which dilutes the flow of the film. The writers could have easily omitted or trimmed down Adarsh Gaurav’s backstory.Director Atanu Mukherjeepresents it in a super slow manner. He could have easily presented this movie with a moderate pace instead of slow pace which at times dilutes the intensity of the film.

Final 'Glitz':-
'Rukh' is like a tight puzzle which keep you indulged in it despite of the super slow narration and some weak moments.
