Yesterday, a Hindu shopkeeper named Kanhaiya Lal was beheaded by two men belonging to a particular community in Rajasthan's Udaipur. They did so because Lal had supported expelled BJP leader Nupur Sharma's recent comments that allegedly insulted Prophet Muhammad.

As per RSS mouthpiece Organiser, a Hindu medical professional was killed in Maharashtra's Amaravati for the same reason by a different set of individuals. The victim's name is Umesh Kolhe. He was allegedly beheaded on June 21 night.

Abdul (24), Shoaib Khan (22), Mudassir Ahmed Sheikh Ibrahim (22) and Shah Rukh Pathan Hidayat Khan (24) have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Netizens are alleging that the Maharashtra government led by Uddhav Thackeray has suppressed the news about the shocking incident by getting the perpetrators arrested for a robbery. Media houses have blacked out the news, social media users are alleging.

At the time of writing, there was no statement from the Maharashtra police. Now that RSS and a few other Hindu outfits have taken up the issue, a statement is expected about the incident. It has to be seen whether it was a hate crime or not.
