The Kerala High Court has deferred the verdict of Dileep's bail petition to October 3, till then the actor will continue to remain in jail. According to reports, that prosecution informed that Dileep offered Pulsar Suni Rs 1.50 crore for carrying out the abduction, and also offered to give rupees 3 crores if he happened to land in jail after executing the crime.
As the mobile phone used for recording the sexual act was yet to be recovered, the prosecution argued that the if Dileep was granted bail, he would destroy the evidence and influence witnesses as he is an influential man in the society.
The prosecution had also got permission from the court to take a statement from popular singer Rimy Tomy. The magistrate has reportedly recorded the statements of 21 witnesses. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) would file the charge sheet against Dileep by October 10th.
Actor Dileep has been jailed in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of Malayalam actress since July 10. This is Dileep's last chance to seek bail before the Special Investigating Team files its charge sheet in the case. The High Court is hearing the bail plea of Dileep for the third time. He was also denied bail twice by a lower court in Angamaly.
