The train blast scene in 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' marks the coming together of Jr NTR's Komaram Bheem and Ram Charan's Rama Raju in an extraordinary situation. They put their lives on the line to save a kid from being swamped by a burning train. The scene involves massive VFX work and a video made by Supreeze VFX Studio narrates the complex process of putting the scene together.
The VFX team, led by supervisor Daniel French, had to work for months to create the right set of paraphernalia. Creature artists, FX artists, Matte Painter, Creature Animators, Miniature Builders, and 3D generalists, among others, worked on the project meticulously.
The train was built in Virginia in the US. The VFX team visited Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh to study the kind of greenery that needed to be created as a backdrop for the episode. Hyderabad and Denmark's Cophengan were also visited.
The fire in the backdrop was studio-created. Multiple blue screen shots were filmed on the lead men. The boy's boat accident shots were filmed in another place. Everything was weaved together to create a complete package.
The episode is one of the hardest ones in Rajamouli's career.
