'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' has excused itself from the January race. The Rajamouli-NTR-Ram Charan movie is reportedly postponed indefinitely. It will NOT hit the screens on January 7.
The blame lies at the doorsteps of the new wave of the coronavirus pandemic in India. The pandemic-induced uncertainty has crippled RRR's potential in key markets such as Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Overseas markets such as the US.
While the makers of 'RRR' have spent huge amounts on publicity already, they are left with no option. At the time of writing, there was no official word on the postponement. However, reports are saying that distributors have been informed about the deferment.
Meanwhile, 'Radhe Shyam', too, is unlikely to hit the screens on January 14. Starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead, the film's deferment is once again because of the pandemic.
Both 'RRR' and 'Radhe Shyam' will likely choose Summer 2022 and come out after things are far less abnormal.
