Director SS Rajamouli's much-awaited period action entertainer, RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram) is based on the concept of reincarnation, says the buzz. Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, RRR is a reincarnation tale of Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, the two legendary freedom fighters from the Telugu states, who laid down their lives for the country.
"The film starts off with the deaths of the iconic freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, whose souls will take rebirth as Bheem and Rama Raju in the pre-independence era. Both Bheem and Ramaraju would never meet in the film until intermission and how do they take their mission forward is the crux of RRR. The interval bang the climax fight between these warriors are the high points of RRR," says a source.
RRR narrates a fictional story about how Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju would have fought with the British and the Nizam of Hyderabad to gain independence. "Had Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju been alive for a few more years, India would have achieved independence much earlier. This is the core idea Rajamouli is exploring in RRR and he has chosen the reincarnation theme to make the story exciting," the source adds.
Mounted on a lavish scale with an estimated budget of Rs 400 crore, RRR is being produced by DVV Danayya. The film also has Ajay Devgn essaying the role of NTR and Ram Charan's mentor. Shriya Saran, Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morris were seen in supporting roles. The MM Keeravani musical is slated to release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam on October 13.
