'RRR' losing Oscars race gets politicized in Telugu media

The other day, 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' lost to a Gujarati film 'Chhello Show' as India's official entry to the Oscars. Since it's a Gujarati film that was picked against 'RRR' and 'The Kashmir Files', a political controversy has erupted.
It is being said that a Telugu film has been given a raw deal deliberately. Prof. K Nageshwar, who makes political commentary on TV channels, contextualizes it in the larger scheme of so-called anti-Telangana politics played by the BJP. "Our RRR lost to Gujarati film Chhello Show in the race for oscar. Our Kazipet denied a coach factory. Gujarat gets a locomotive factory. Our Hyderabad lost the WHO centre to Jamnagar in Gujarat. Our Hyderabad International arbitration tribunal gets a competitor in GIFT city in Gujarat," he tweeted. The tweet has clocked more than 5,000 tweets.
It's being suggested that the Gujarati film has been picked by the Film Federation of India only because Assembly elections are coming up in Gujarat. This doesn't go well with how politics are played in India. People vote on issues such as inflation, jobs, caste and religion. They don't favour a party because their movie has been sent to the Oscars. If politics had determined the outcome, BJP would have favoured 'The Kashmir Files' for obvious reasons. It has more emotive value than a small film that nobody knows about.
