'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram', as of now, is slated to hit the screens on 7 January 2022. Producer DVV Danayya had planned a pre-release event in Hyderabad on December 30. It was to be a grand public event to be held at the famous LB Stadium.
The news is that the grand event has been called off. This is due to the Omicron scare. The Centre recently advised the states not to allow large public gatherings. Lyca Productions today announced a grand 'RRR' event in Chennai on December 27 at the Chennai Trade Centre.
This is the second major film event to be called off this week. Yesterday, a grand event of 'Pushpa: The Rise' was called off in Kakinada because the makers couldn't secure police permissions.
Meanwhile, the buzz is that 'RRR' will be postponed definitely. The reason is obvious. The Omicron scare has meant that major markets like Maharashtra have imposed night curfews and curbs on theatre occupancies. Night curfews are in force in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Haryana. In several states, movie shows can't go beyond 7:30 PM.
