'RRR' glorifies Hindutva imagery, nationalism: Critics

As expected, 'Roudram Ranam Rudhiram' has been described by many as a soft-Hindutva film. Earlier, 'The Kashmir Files' came in for a similar description from Leftists and Marxist commentators/Netizens. Even some political and activist social media handles are making similar accusations.
Writing for Mint, columnist Uday Bhatia opines that the Rajamouli directorial offers Hindu Rashtra fittings for free. RRR subtly recasts the Indian freedom struggle as a primarily Hindu movement. Lord Ram literally appears at the end to defeat the British, he further adds.
There is so much misunderstanding on the part of many North Indian audiences, who are believing that Ram Charan's character metamorphoses into a divine being (who looks identical to Lord Ram), while the Telugu audiences know that it is Alluri Sitarama Raju and not Lord Ram. On the day of the movie's release, Bush India, a Twitter user, wrote, Hindi version of this film #RRR will be a sure blockbuster as in the climax, one of the heroes turns Jaidev Sriram with bow and arrows destroying the British force. Last 20 minutes SS Rajamouli’s tribute to Hindutva with Sanskrit shlokas on Sriram as BGM.
One wonders what Rajamouli is going to say as an answer when he is asked about all this!
