Arthur Edwards is a seasoned photographer whose career began in 1977. He has been taking photos of the royal family for years and years. In a recently published article with The Sun, he narrated his harrowing experience during Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018. He quoted him as saying, "Prince Harry trying to stop the press from coming in was the worst royal engagement I have ever had."
Edwards recounted the frustrations of the day, ranging from the inability to capture the perfect photo of the couple exiting the cathedral on a horse-drawn carriage to the alleged "catastrophe" of "as they passed me, they looked the other way"; he further stated that this was the standard treatment for all members of the British press.
Two years into the marriage, Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior royals and moved to Montecito, California. In their 2022 documentary, "Harry & Meghan," for Netflix, they criticized the British media for what they claimed was apparent racism and exploitation emanating from within Buckingham Palace. Harry said, "Being part of this family, it is my duty to uncover this exploitation and bribery."
Harry has frequently denounced the press, most notably in the 2017 BBC documentary "Diana, 7 Days," in which he firmly pinned back the blame for his mother's tragic death in 1997 on the doorstep of the photographers. He said the paparazzi drove Princess Diana into the tunnel and took pictures of her dying.
Harry has abandoned his British residency and now says the US is his home, having last visited his native country for the Invictus Games, where he did not even visit his father, King Charles, who is reportedly suffering from cancer. Edwards expressed a mixture of sadness over his absence and hope for reconciliation, stating, "He is the prodigal son, and the prodigal son did return."
Harry and Meghan have a 4-year-old offspring, Prince Archie, and another child, 2 years old, Princess L.
