Director Lal who launched the youth film, ‘Tournament’ after winding up his Harinagar sequel ideas was looking for that perfect girl to play the only female lead in the film. After much trials and consideration Lal has finalized Roopa Manjari. ‘Tournament’ is about eight boys and a girl.

Roopa Manjari is a known actress in Kollywood after her decent debut in ‘Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru’ film. Lal is working to release his new film for Christmas.

The film which started in September is a kind of road movie and will be shot in Mysore, Bangalore and Gundalpet.

‘Tournament’ is being produced by PN Venugopal and Lal together. Deepak Dev is scoring the music instead of Lal’s regular Alex Paul. Deepak will tune the lyrics of Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma.
