Actress Roja known for her strong oratorical skills and straight forward approach won her second term as MLA from the Nagiri constituency in Andhra in the recent assembly elections. She is an ardent supporter of Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy and took on and defeated a strong leader of the opposition TDP.

It was a foregone conclusion that Roja would be made a minister and she herself was confident of that. However, there was a huge disappointment for the 'Uzhaipaali' heroine as her name did not figure in Jagan Mohan's cabinet. It is reported in the Telugu media that Roja was offered the Assembly Speaker post which she rejected. It is unknown whether Roja will be accommodated in the current ministry or during the reshuffle after two and a half years.
