Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has envisioned a universe of interconnected cop films and fourth film of this universe 'Sooryavanshi' is currently in theatres. While audience are enjoying Akshay's action packed 'Sooryavanshi', Rohit has reportedly started planning the next film in the universe and it's going to be 'Singham 3'. No points for guessing that Ajay Devgan will reprise his role as the iconic police officer, Bajirao Singham.

A recent report in Pinkvilla suggested that Rohit is eyeing for Independence Day 2023 as the potential release date for the project. A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that 'Singham 3' will carry forward the theme of patriotism and anti terrorism that the series has explored so far. It will be set in Kashmir against the backdrop of India-Pakistan tensions and cross-border terrorism.

The film is supposed to go on floors in mid 2022 since Ajay is quite busy till then. Considering the popularity of 'Simmba' and 'Sooryavanshi', it is safe to assume that Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh's characters might have appearances in the film.
