During India’s second match against New Zealand in Auckland, Rohit Sharma marked his name in history by becoming the highest scoring T20 player in international cricket.
At the start of the innings, Rohit Sharma was placed behind New Zealand’s Martin Guptill and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik. However, the batsman took the lead when he reached 35 runs. Virat Kohli is at the 4th position, ahead of McCullum at the 5th place by 27 runs. Guptill missed the innings following an injury.
Rohit Sharma, who made his T20I debut in 2007, has played 92 matches for India, with his highest score being 118. He also joined Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill in becoming the third international cricketer to hit 100 sixes in the T20Is.
With Sachin Tendulkar leading the run-score in the Tests and ODIs and Rohit Sharma leading the score in the T20Is, Indian batsmen are now the leading run-scorers in all three formats.
