audios doesn't rock!

The Mohanlal starer's audio collection was pretty much expected one because it announced the comeback of Vidhya Sagar to Malayalam after a gap of two years. The album with many fresh faces, also with able use of established singers, is not in the lines as one expects. It doesn't make you roll to its beats. But as usual with the music director, a couple of songs will make you engaged for the moment, moulding it not a total let down.

1."Chandamama"  Singers:  Anitha, Rija

This is the opening song of the album which is sung by two relatively fresh voices, Anitha and Rija. This is  fast song with drum beats extending all through the song. A mood of a Latin music survives all through the track which is made live by the debutante voices, who does the rendering with taste and vigor. The lyrics by Gireesh Puthencherry are not much to mention on imageries, but the words used definitely don't bulge out from the musical frames, that is a regularly seen pitfalls in the songs of mollywood. The song is already in the hit charts.

2. "Jiruthana" Singers: Tippu, Renjith

Vidya Sagar has once again imported Tippu, a singer who has more popular with many hit songs to his credit in Tamil. It feels like a fun song with no much lyrical importance especially in the pallavi.

3. "Manchaadi Mazha" Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan, Sujatha

In this song, Vidhyasagaar is in the territory where he is known to do the best-- that is, Melody. And naturally this is the pick of the songs in the album soulfully rendered in the   voices of Madhu and Sujatha. Gireesh Puthenchery also adds to the parts of beauty by some of the best, un complicated  lyrics heard in recent times.

4. "Raavereyaayi" Singers: Madhu Balakrishnan

This song was expected to do all the magic in the film, but  interestingly the song  even with its good lyrics, orchestrations and a little higher octave tunes , give good listening in the audios. But in the film, the tunes couldn't rise up to the expected hype that precedes the situation of the song. A unadulterated slow melody could have been a better choice than this one. Also the racy beats and triple drums also spoil the intensity of the piece. The song is beautiful rendered with grave emotions in Yesudas hear alike voice by Madhu Balakrishnan..

5. "Valayonnithaa" Singers: Geemon,Vijay Yesudas, Renjith, Pradeep Palluruthy

This is another fun song in the movie which had some nostalgic ''naadan'' lyrics .To make it more appealing, Vidya Sagar has added some " kotteTaa" and "pooseTaa" bits  in between, which sounds ill advised .The song is prospective hit as it is quite easy to hum and listen to .

All in all, the album is a passable fare which will continue in charts for a little time. A couple of songs may make you reach again for the replay button.

The audio is available exclusively on Raaga.com.
