Thala Ajith had made a return to screens after his Pongal blockbuster Viswasam, with the courtroom drama Ner Konda Paarvai directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The movie was released on August 8 and has opened to extremely positive reviews.

Ner Konda Paarvai is the official Tamil remake of the 2016 Hindi movie Pink, directed by Anirudha Roy Chowdhury and starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee. The Tamil version also stars Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami, Andrea Tariang, Vidya Balan and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
