Popular Radio Jockey and actor RJ Balaji was one of the first few celebrities to welcome the Demonitization announcement of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Within a few hours after Modi's historical announcement at around 8 PM on November 8, 2016, Balaji released a video post welcoming it. In the video he said it is a "historic step in Independent India" to wipe off black money and requested people not to get panic as they could exchange the old currencies with banks.
It's been around 45 days since the announcement and people from various parts of the country are struggling with cash crunch while banks and ATMs are running short of adequate currency notes. Though the supporters call these as temporary side effects of an operation aimed at far-reaching benefits for the nation, displeasure and discontent is also spreading among people mainly due to the implementation.
On Friday, a follower asked Balaji whether his stand on demonitization still remains unchanged and here is the 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' actor's reply.
No I don't.As an Indian felt emotional/patriotic bout d intention.But d implementation n al d sufferings caused by it r bad n disheartening. https://t.co/z8l6XJLWCn
