With release date of 'Mausam' pushed ahead by a week, it was a virtual draught at the box office when it came to new releases. Since postponement of the Shahid Kapoor-Sonam Kapoor starrer came as a last minute decision, other small films couldn't really make it to the marquee, hence leaving it to 'Rivaaz' and 'Jaana Pehchana' to make any presence felt.

None of these two films could succeed in doing that either as they didn't even get an all-India release. So while 'Jaana Pehchana' was released at just one theatre in Mumbai, 'Rivaaz' too had an extremely selected release and that too at just a few centres. Expectedly, there were no takers for either of the films which didn't even bother critics, leave aside 'aam junta', to watch the film.

A sequel to Sachin-Ranjeeta starrer 'Ankhiyon Ke Jharoke Se', 'Jaana Pehchana' had the same starcast and was released without any promotion by its makers, Barjatyas. Expectedly the foot falls were nothing to talk home about. As for 'Rivaaz', it was a mix of non-happening young star cast and a few veterans who are known for their performances. However that wasn't good enough for this issue based film to find anyone interested in checking it out. Result? A no-show at the box office.
