Incidentally Rituparna, besides winning numerous awards for her acting prowess, was also crowned the glamour queen of Kolkata.
About her coming release UNNS, Rituparna says, "UNNS is an Arabic word which means love, and is a mix of really beautiful emotion. It's about love & subtle emotion in life. It is a performance oriented love triangle. It's a character wherein I play a glamorous role. 'Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh' gave me a chance to showcase my histrionics which enabled me to enter this industry gracefully & be associated with a certain kind of cinema. I hope that after applauding me as an actor, people will also accept me in glamorous role."
Rituparna has also received a lot of critical acclaim for her performance in a complex author based role in BETI KROMI, in which she played the role of a young housewife who suffers a miscarriage that triggers off a schizophrenic disorder. When asked about her transition focus to Bollywood. Rituparna says, "I've done a lot of Bengali films with heavyweights like Rituparna Ghosh, Buddhadeb Das Gupta and carved my niche with both commercial as well as art films. But right now I would like to experiment and spread my wings. Bollywood too is going through a transition phase with whole lot experimentation. I would like to create a niche for myself."
After proving herself as an actor time and again with some power packed histrionics, the National award-winning actor is now keen to establish herself as a hip & happening star in Hindi films. Here is wishing her all the luck for her future endeavors!
