Actor Riteish Deshmukh, who is best known for his comedic performances in ensemble films, is all set to make his directorial debut with the upcoming Marathi film 'Ved'. The film also marks the acting comeback of Riteish's wife Genelia Deshmukh. The trailer of the film was released a while ago and soon after it, some netizens pointed out that it looked oddly similar to Naga Chaitanya starrer film 'Majili'.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film also starred Samantha Prabhu and several scenes in 'Ved' trailer were lifted directly from this. He stated, "It is inspired from Majili but it is very important to know how to adapt it to Marathi culture. We have spent a lot of time to figure that out.”
The actor further added, "People who have loved Majili will definitely find something new in this film and we would like you to come and watch this too."
'Ved' is set to release theatrically on 30th of December.
