Rishabh Pant sets record in Australia
- IndiaGlitz, [Friday,January 04 2019]
On the second day of the fourth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Rishabh Pant scored his second Test century, and the first time against Australia, making him the first ever Indian wicket-keeper to score a Test century in Australia.
The 21-year-old came into the middle after the dismissal of Vihari and shared an 89-run stand with Cheteshwar Pujara, followed by a 100 plus*-stand with Ravindra Jadeja. Pant previously scored a 114 against England at the Oval in September 2018, which also makes him the only wicket-keeper to have two Test centuries outside Asia. Previously, Farukh Engineer, with a score of 89 at an Adelaide Test, had the highest score for an Indian wicket-keeper in Australia.
The Indian team currently has a 2-1 lead in the 4-match Test series.
