Richa Gangopadhyay, the beautiful actress who made her debut opposite Rana in Shekhar Kammula’s ‘Leader’ will dub for herself in Telugu in her forthcoming ‘Nagavalli’ with Venkatesh.

Richa starts a new trend. She’s probably the first heroine among the non-Telugu speaking heroines who dub for themselves. Go on and try to populate the list, none of the new heroines in Telugu cinema are dubbing for themselves.

Look at Trisha, Ileana, Kajal Agarwal and the whole lot, they speak a few words and then continue in English even in public forums leave alone dubbing. In fact, the same dubbing artistes keep dubbing for the heroines, leaving the audience unaware of how the original voice of the heroines would sound!

We could spare Anushka, Charmi and a few others because they take an effort to at least speak in Telugu in press meets or interviews.

This was not the case of Telugu cinema in the past. A lot of Telugu-speaking heroines were there but these days heroines are brought from the north. But it’s not bad now as heroines like Richa are taking the initiative to learn the sweet Telugu language and dub for themselves and the others will follow suit.

Congratulations Richa! You’ve started a new trend! Telugu People like people who speak Telugu!
