Gifted actress Richa Chadda is all set to portray a police officer alongside Pratik Gandhi in upcoming Disney+ Hotstar show 'The Great Indian Murder'. The actress believes that her character of DCP Sudha Bhardwaj is quite grounded and normal in comparison to her previous roles which were loud, robust and abusive.
During the virtual trailer launch on Tuesday, Richa said, "I haven’t really got a chance to play straight-up, ‘normal’ characters. They are either abusive, extremely rural or a ganglord… But this is perhaps one of the most straight, upfront characters I have played." This is the reason why Richa wanted to play the role of DCP Sudha Bhardwaj with a lot of dignity.
"But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a sense of humour or there won’t be any lighter moments in her life when something tragic has happened in her personal life. I built the character keeping those nuances in mind," said the actress.
