Rhea abetted Sushant Singh’s extreme drug addiction: NCB

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has been named in a draft chargesheet prepared by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the death by suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant died in 2020 and Rhea was his girlfriend at that time.

The actress, reports today said, has been charged by the NCB for allegedly buying narcotics for Sushant Singh Rajput.

Besides Rhea, 34 others are also named as accused. Among them is her brother Showik. The 30-year-old actress has been charged with not only purchasing but also financing marijuana. It was she who delivered marijuana to Sushant, the chargesheet says.

It may be recalled that Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on September 8, 2020. She was granted bail by the Bombay High Court a month later.

Commenting on the development, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted, “After trying to find various cases against Rhea (from murder to abetting suicide to financial corruption), NCB now charges her with procuring drugs for her boyfriend. Only confirms Sushant was heavily on drugs and he isn’t even here to defend himself.”
