Ram Gopal Varma has announced that 'Murder', which is clearly based on the honour killing of Pranay (the Dalit husband of Amrutha), will hit the screens on December 24. It seems RGV wants to create some controversy so that the film gets maximum publicity before its release.
A presser will be held in Miryalaguda in Telangana, where the honour killing took place in 2018, on December 22. RGV has made the film against all odds with the cooperation of producers Natti Kranthi and Natti Karuna. Court cases were filed and the shoot of the film was sought to be stalled. The High Court of Telangana intervened and gave a go-ahead to 'Murder'.
The producers today said that they received warning calls from anonymous entities. "They threatened us and told us not to release the film in Miryalaguda. They said that theatres will be ransacked if we release 'Murder' there," Karuna and Kranthi today said.
Directed by Anand Chandra, the film stars Srikanth Iyengar and Sahithi as father and daughter, respectively.
